Prof. Adrien Re is a 2001 Grammy Nominee for Best Chamber Music Performance and Production with the Ball State Saxophone Quartet from Muncie, Indiana. This is a cover for his new album. Composition is divided into four sections with two squares on the left containing typography and two elements on the right showing pictograms. My intention was to tell the same story of Adrien Re’s Jazz Band Big play music in New Orleans both textually and pictographically. St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter is the most famous landmark of New Orleans while the trumpet symbolizes jazz. The playful characters in the lower left corner imply passionate musical performance. Originally, I followed the recognizable, vibrant colors of Mardi Gras but decided to explore a subdued color palette.
