Short Biography

Dejan Mraović is the Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Northwest Missouri State University inMaryville, Missouri. He earned his masters degree in graphic design from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Mraović went to College of Visual and Applied Arts in Belgrade, Serbia and Design School, in Belgrade. He worked as Coordinator of the Graphic Design Program at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. That program wasestablished in 2002 and he was their 3 rd Coordinator. Prior to this job he worked as Coordinator of the GraphicDesign Program at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky where he started a new graphic designprogram in 2012. He had five solo and thirty group exhibitions nationally and internationally in venues such as theMuseum of Applied Art, Belgrade, Museum of Contemporary Art, Novi Sad, Serbia, Museum of Contemporary Art,Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Students’ Cultural Center, Belgrade, Ohio University Art Gallery, Athens,OH, Carson-Newman University Gallery, Jefferson City, TN, Limner Gallery, Hudson, NY… He delivered tengraphic design lectures and hosted four workshops at Ohio University, Athens, OH, Indiana University–PurdueUniversity Fort Wayne, IN, Emporia State University, Emporia, KS, Southwestern Oklahoma State University,Weatherford, OK, Cameron University, Lawton, OK, Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, KY,Carson-Newman University, Jefferson City, TN, the Kemp Center for the Arts, Wichita Falls, TX, and ConsulateGeneral of the Republic of Serbia, Manhattan, NY. His works have been published in Newdesign Magazine,Warwick, England, Font, Prague, Czechia, Kvadart, Belgrade, Serbia, Ácido Surtido, Buenos Aires, Argentina,Design 360°, Guangzhou, China, IdN, Hong Kong… Mraović’s nine logos were included in Significity, the antologyof the best Serbian and Yugoslav logos 1960-2010. His artistic calendars are in the collection of the Museum ofVojvodina, Novi Sad. Besides graphic design he is passionate for photography and film. Short movies that he hasmade were in the Official Selection of seventeen international film festivals in Michigan, Vermont, Ohio, Kentucky,Maryland, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, England, Germany, Spain, Croatia, and Bangladesh in the venues such as theBangladesh National Museum in Dhaka, Temple Theatre in Saginaw, MI and Somerset Community College inSomerset, KY.
